CATHODIC PROTECTION EQUIPMENT:
Underground and underwater corrosion of all metal structures is basically an electro-chemical phenomenon, the metal structure acting as the electrode and the medium (soil or water) as the electrolyte. This equipment, over a period of time, suffers damage and corrosion, hence rendering these pieces of equipment unfit.
Prevention of corrosion in submerged structures is very important both for functional and economical points of view. This can be achieved by countering these corrosion currents using a DC source. A properly engineered cathodic protection can completely prevent corrosion of submerged metallic structures.
The amount of current so impressed has a bearing on the extent of protection of the structure. If the current impressed is higher than the required value, there is the risk of damaging the protective coating .A current less than required value would protect the structure only partially.
To obtain the optimum level of protection under varying conditions, our Automatic Cathodic Protection Equipment (ACP), constantly monitors and controls the impressed current so as to maintain a constant level of protective potential at the structure.
The “YASH” Automatic Cathodic Protection Equipment is a compact floor mounted totally enclosed, self contained, outdoor, well-ventilated, sheet steel unit. It is fed from normally available Low Tension A.C Mains supply. It’s control circuit is mounted on plug-in cards and so offers ease of maintenance and greater operational reliability.
Our Automatic Cathodic Protection Equipment has a number of applications:
- underground pipe lines for water, gas, oil, chemicals, etc.
- ships exposed to varying conditions such as loading salinity, temperature of sea water, speed, etc.
- intake screens for salt water cooling for industrial and power plants.
Our equipment is used by O.N.G.C, I.O.C.L, G.A.I.L, Refineries, Petro-Chemicals, Power-Stations, Jetties, etc..
